Looking for an innovative programme where you can learn new subjects (Drama, Digital Photography, Practical Science, Web Design, Creative Writing etc.) in English? Would you like to develop confidence in debating, presentational skills and public speaking? Why not extend your horizons at our summer courses

TEACHING AND ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

  • For students with an upper intermediate level or above. You should be able to follow lessons in English and express yourself without difficulty.
  • 30 lessons of average 45 mins (22.5 hours per week).
  • Each week you'll choose one Major (Drama, Web Design, Practical Science etc) and one Minor (Poetry, Digital Photography, History of Art etc). Final presentations are made at the end of the week - orally, by PowerPoint or in a performance
  • Maximum class size: 15 international students
  • Study visits are linked to the academic programme e.g. to Jane Austen's house, a local science park, historic Almshouses, local museums.
  • Action-packed activity programme 7 days a week.
  • 1 full-day and 1 half-day excursion per week (e.g. London, Oxford, Bournemouth, Bath, Portsmouth, Brighton).
  • Responsible students may go out in small groups to explore and enjoy Winchester on some afternoons.
  • PLUS: Lots of opportunities to practice English with our Resident English Student Hosts.

 

ACCOMMODATION AND SUPERVISION

  • Spacious, 'basic' bedrooms with 1-8 beds (smaller bedded rooms given to o students). As an historic, traditional, boys' schools do not expect 5 star accommodation!
  • Some en-suite single rooms may also be available at the University of Winchester, 10-15 minutes walk from the college.
  • Resident staff sleep close by.
  • Full board accommodation. Meals are taken in the 14th century oak-panelled College Hall.
  • This programme is run as a junior programme with close supervision by resident staff.

INCLUDED IN THE FEES: (RESIDENTIAL CENTRES)

  • Classes (maximum 14 international students)
  • Participation of Resident English Student Hosts who join in all activities – a unique chance to make friends with British children who are the same age as the international students.
  • Course materials, end of course report and certificate.
  • Full board residential accommodation.
  • One full-day and one half-day excursion per week.
  • Varied daily programme to cater for all interests and abilities.
  • Close supervision by our resident staff.
  • Personal laundry for machine washable clothes.
  • Medical and travel insurance from departure in home country to return home after course.
  • Return airport transfers on published arrival/departure days for flights arriving/departing between 09.00h-15.00h from/to London Heathrow (all centres), Gatwick (W), Manchester
